Another name will soon be added to the growing list of Catching Academy alums in college baseball.  Current Catching Academy student Mitchell Briggs has committed to play at Chapman University (NCAA Div. 3) in the fall of 2016.

Briggs has attended the Catching Academy for two years, working personally with lead instructor Brett Thomas.  Mitchell is a native of San Ramon, CA, and is in the midst of his senior year at California High School, where he is both a standout athlete on the ball field, and an exemplary student in the classroom.

During his junior season, Mitchell posted a .375 batting average while displaying his talents behind the plate for head coach Jason Brosnan and the Grizzlies.  He is able to perform to that high level while excelling academically as well, currently maintaining a 4.3 GPA.

Mitchell will have an opportunity to earn a significant role quickly for Chapman University head coach Scott Laverty. Now heading into his fourth season at Chapman, coach Laverty has a stellar record of success with 351 career wins to his name, in 17 seasons.

As for his academic pursuits, Briggs will major in Business Administration when he moves to Orange, CA to attend Chapman University this fall.

The Catching Academy is very proud of Mitchell Briggs and his work ethic, which has propelled him to these great accomplishments on and off the baseball field.  We wish Mitchell continued success.
