Schwitters, a native of Clayton, CA, who attends Berean Christian High School, signed his national letter of intent this week to attend and play baseball at St. Mary’s College (NCAA Div. 1; West Coast Conference) in Moraga, CA. Casey attends the Catching Academy and has been recieving the instruction of lead instructor Brett Thomas, as well as instructor Kevin Stanley. Currently in his senior year at Berean Christian, Schwitters is a standout, batting .448 with 19 RBI's and 29 stolen bases as a junior, while providing the tremendous defence behind the plate that he has honed while working with Thomas and Stanley.
In addition to being awarded the Silver Slugger award at Berean, Casey is excelling in the classroom, currently maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
Schwitters will join a decorated St. Mary’s program, which is under the guidance of third year Gaels head coach Eric Valenzuela. Casey will have a chance to compete for an important role on a strong Gaels squad, competing in the very competitive West Coast Conference.
The Catching Academy would like to congratulate Casey Schwitters on his commitment to St. Mary’s College, and commend him for his hard work and dedication to the game, his catching craft, and his studies. We wish you nothing but the very best as your career moves forward!
