The Catching Academy is excited to announce details for its second annual Under Armor Elite High School Catching Camp hydrated by BODYARMOR.
The camp will take place on Saturday, December 1 from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM at the College of San Mateo baseball field.
Instruction will be led by Catching Academy founder Brett Thomas and instructors Ben Lopez and Kevin Stanley.
The camp’s full roster of 12 instructors will include four guests currently employed at the major league level, and five catchers currently active in professional baseball.

· John Baker- Chicago Cubs mental skills coach; former major league catcher
· Chris Hoo- Miami Marlins bullpen catcher
· Chris Hughes- Cincinnati Reds coach
· David Banuelos- Catcher, Minnesota Twins organization; 2017 NCAA Gold Glove
· Jarrett Costa- Catcher, Oakland Athletics organization
· Marcus Mastrobuoni- Catcher, Chicago Cubs organization
· Logan Trowbridge- professional catcher; former Cal State Bakersfield (NCAA Div.1)
Special appearances will be made by the following:
Total Impact Sports and Fitness
Specializing in flexibility, mobility and agility training. John and Giancarlo of Total Impact Sports will work with players and introduce drills that will enhance catching abilities.
Keep Playing Baseball
A non-profit organization, Keep Playing Baseball provides resources and information for players and their parents regarding the college recruiting process. Keep Playing Baseball will speak with camp participants and their parents about ensuring that they are taking the necessary steps to be prepared for college recruitment.
*Parents: The final hour of the camp (4:00-5:00 PM) will be devoted to discussing the college recruitment process and answering your questions. You will want to be present for this.
More Than A Game
A non-profit organization that enlists athletes to unite, educate and empower communities; More Than A Game impacts communities worldwide through outreach projects, programs, mentorship and exchange.
Camp participants will be expected to bring all of their own catcher’s gear and glove and be prepared to work and learn for the full eight hours, both physically and mentally.
Food and hydration will be provided all day by BODYARMOR.
The registration fee of $499 covers all instruction, lunch, hydration, a Catching Acadeny shirt and a bag of Catching Academy accessories.
